Bold Fresh Spoiled

Posted by Chad on Feb 05, 2010

We’ve had a lot of snow here in DC this year already and if you’ve been watching the news you probably know that another big storm is rolling through this weekend. As much as 20 – 25 inches is expected. We already went through one storm in December where we received 24 inches. Anyway… enough about that. Jen’s Mom paid us a visit in December to celebrate Christmas with us. My parents visited the last week of January. Emily Kate had a good time playing with them while they were here. My dad bought tickets to the Bold Fresh tour (Bill O’Reilly and Glen Beck tour) for the Norfolk show. DC is about 3 hours drive north and they were calling for a big storm in Norfolk so we traveled down their on Friday to ensure we could make it to the show Saturday. After we got there and got settled into our hotel after eating dinner and looking forward to relaxing for the evening we found out the event had been canceled! So we packed up and drove back to Woodbridge. The Governor of Virginia had declared a state of emergency because Norfolk was expecting 12 inches of snow. Apparently it was supposed to be the biggest storm to role through there in 20 years. The snow storm DC had in December was the 7th biggest storm for DC and they are expecting the one this weekend to top that. So much for global warming… below is a photo of the snow from December.

My wonderful wife made the dress Emily Kate is wearing in the photo above. She wore it several times around Thanksgiving and we couldn’t go anywhere with out people telling us how cute the dress was and how cute Emily Kate looked wearing it. I told Jen that she needs to start making them and selling them on eBay!

Virginia Beach Fun

Posted by Chad on Jun 30, 2009

We went to Virginia Beach in June and had a good time introducing Emily to the Atlantic Ocean. We only stayed one night so it was a short trip but it was fun. We got lots of good pictures and a few good videos. One of them I almost feel bad posting online but it is pretty funny once you get past the shock of it. We stayed in a nice hotel over looking the beach. Come to find out Marriott gives a pretty good military discount. We got 40% knocked off the room rate. They had a really nice pool but Emily Kate wasn’t to interested in swimming.

So here are the videos, make sure you watch the top one first…

This video was taken on March 29th, 2009. What a joy! She actually played for a lot longer than what it shows in the video… we were just slow getting the camera out.

My Baby Girl!

Emily is doing great! She is sitting up and considering crawling. She gets on all fours some but ultimately ends up just pushing herself backwards. She got to meet all the Johnson side of the family in March and will get to meet even more when we go to Hoxie is July. We’ll be there for the Sheridan County Fair. Below is a fun photo us playing!

Visitors

Posted by Chad on Mar 11, 2009

Jen and I have played host to several visitors lately. My parents left on Monday after being here for 5 days. While they were here my Aunt Ione and Uncle Guy visited for 2 days. My brother and his wife will be here Saturday and will be staying for a week. A couple weeks ago we hosted my friend Joe who is going through Marine Corps Officer Training at Quantico. We’ve had some issues though… our main line drain backed up so we had a bit of sewage come up the drains in our basement. As you can imagine that was not very pleasant. Thankfully we have a good landlord and he had someone out the next day to fix it. Those plumbers charged him $330 dollars an hour for the work. What a rip. Along with an annoying housing association, and trying to figure out my taxes… March is turning out to be a busy month.

Here’s a few pictures from the grandparents visit:
