Goodbye, Good Riddance

Ok… so I know this is kind of old news but I still wanted to chime in on it. I say goodbye and good riddance but unfortunately Kathleen Sebelius will now have more power than she ever did as Kansas Governor. Bill O’Reilly hit the nail on the head with this quote from his show on March 2nd:

[T]he governor is a controversial choice because she has opposed most restrictions on abortions even late term. And the archbishop from Kansas Joseph Naumann suggested she refrain from receiving communion as the governor’s Catholic. Well, she came to our attention after accepting campaign money from George Tiller, known as Tiller, the baby killer. He’s currently charged with a variety of crimes centering on his abortion practice. He aborts babies at any time for just about any reason if you pay him $5,000.

And now Dr. Tiller is on trial for breaking a state law requiring that two Kansas physicians without legal or financial ties sign off on any late-term abortion. He is on trial for 19 counts of the offense. By his own admission he performed between 250 and 300 late term abortions in 2003, the same year the 19 abortions he is on trial for took place. Anyway… Gov. Sebelius did everything possible while she was governor of Kansas to protect this guy. And now she is going to be the US Secretary of Health and Human Services and 12th in line for the President.

Apparently the order to not take communion is going to follow her to Washington after she gets confirmed next week. Read about it here.

This post goes into detail about the abortion issue and mainly the issue as to why the media has largely ignored it. I found it to be a good read and well researched.

UPDATE: Dr. Tiller was acquitted of all 19 charges. Read more about the case here.

Visitors

Jen and I have played host to several visitors lately. My parents left on Monday after being here for 5 days. While they were here my Aunt Ione and Uncle Guy visited for 2 days. My brother and his wife will be here Saturday and will be staying for a week. A couple weeks ago we hosted my friend Joe who is going through Marine Corps Officer Training at Quantico. We’ve had some issues though… our main line drain backed up so we had a bit of sewage come up the drains in our basement. As you can imagine that was not very pleasant. Thankfully we have a good landlord and he had someone out the next day to fix it. Those plumbers charged him $330 dollars an hour for the work. What a rip. Along with an annoying housing association, and trying to figure out my taxes… March is turning out to be a busy month.

Here’s a few pictures from the grandparents visit:

Give Less to Charity – More to Government??

Sound like a good idea to you? Hmmm… let me think… mmm… NO! No it’s not a good idea… but with Obama’s new plan that is exactly what is going to happen to those folks making more than $200,000 a year in this country. Read about it here.
