I’ve been working on a new website the last couple of weeks, hence no posts here. The new site is a photo meme site called Two 4 Tuesday. I really enjoy photography so I several years ago I set up a photoblog to share my photos with the world. Well, one great way to get people to go to your photoblog is posting a link to a picture a different weekly meme’s. When I started building the new site there was currently a different photo meme for every day of the week except Tuesday. Now there is one for Tuesday. If you or anyone you know has a photoblog be sure to tell them about my new site!

Jen and I are currently going through the book of Matthew with the help of Max Lucado Bible Study series called, Life Lessons. I thought I would share a little from lesson 1, God with Skin On, Matthew 1:18 – 2:12.
The final question in the study was, “How would my life tomorrow be different if I could live continually with an awareness that Christ is with me and in me?” Here’s my thoughts:
I’ve had this discussion before. In fact I remember where I was and who I was with… It was in my Bible study during my last year of college and the leader of the group had had an experience during the previous week that led him to tell us that we should never forget that Christ is always right there with us. In fact, he said he had been praying when he felt, not just God’s presence, but he felt like Jesus Christ Himself was sitting on the couch beside him. He made us realize that Christ IS always with you, though tough times, good times, and those times when we would rather hide from Him. There is no hiding. We must live our lives as if He is always there, watching… not waiting to catch us in sin, but ready to help, comfort, provide peace, cast out demons, carry us, bring us joy, love us, and so much more beyond what we could even imagine. So how could tomorrow be different? My thoughts would change, because He knows them and I would keep every thought captive. In turn my words would change to reflect my thoughts. Then my actions would change to reflect my words. And then, with time, my character would be molded to reflect Christ’s character. Isn’t that what the one of the main goals of Christian living? I think so.
This first study has been a good reminder that Christ is with us, always. I mean, he is right there, beside you, right now. And no matter what you do, He Loves you.

It is hard to imagine that a judge didn’t allow a motion to have this case thrown out of court. A rancher along our southern border has been rounding up illegal immigrants for about 10 years as they cross his property and turning them over to authorities. About 5 years ago he rounded up 16 illegals, and like any land owner might do, he held them at gun point until authorities could arrive. Now these illegal immigrants are suing him for 32 million dollars for infringing upon their civil rights. Absolutely absurd! It sounds to me like the rancher is the one who deserves the money. In the 10 years since he started hauling illegals off he’s rounded up over 12,000 of them. The US Government should be paying him! Emily had her 6 month check up recently and she was 27 ¼ inches long and weighed 16 pounds. That put her in the 95th percentile for height! Jen and I were doing some cleaning over the weekend and we found some of the newborn size diapers she wore when we first brought her home and it was hard to believe she even fit into them.

The video below is the story of David Goldman and his quest to have his kidnapped son, Sean, returned to him. His son was kidnapped by his wife and taken to Brazil. The most appalling part of the story is the fact that the Brazilian authorities are not helping the situation. They are completely ignoring international law and the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction. This whole situation is just appalling. I cannot imagine what I would do if my daughter was kidnapped and I knew where she was and I couldn’t get any help to get her back.

UPDATE
David Goldman, with the help of New Jersey Representative, Chris Smith, was able to see his son on 9 Feb 2009.
