Whole New Meaning
Posted by Chad on Jan 20, 2009I went to the wedding of a good friend mine from college over the weekend. It was the first time I had seen many of my college friends since I graduated. It was a great wedding and a good time. It was also the first wedding I have been to since the birth of my daughter. Seeing the Father of the Bride walk her down the isle has a whole new meaning now that I am a father. I really think it is only something dads can understand, the love one has for their child is not easily expressed in mere words. I am not sure why, but it really hit me when they did the Father/Daughter dance at the reception. I was just filled with emotion as I imagined the moment, at some point in the future, when I’ll be dancing with my daughter on her wedding day. All I have to say is that it will have to be one special man to take my daughter’s hand in marriage. That is why my wife and I both spend time at the end of each day praying for our daughter, and among those prayers are prayers for our future son-in-law.
